Oura Delays U.S. IPO as Higher Rates Test Fall Listing Market

Smart-ring maker Oura has postponed its planned U.S. initial public offering as rising interest rates, elevated bond yields and broader market uncertainty complicate what is normally an active period for new listings.

The company and its investors had planned to sell 50 million shares at between $40 and $44 each.

At the top of that range, the transaction could have raised about $2.2 billion and valued Oura at approximately $15.62 billion.

Oura cited market uncertainty in delaying the offering.

The decision does not mean the IPO has been permanently abandoned. Instead, the company is waiting for more favorable market conditions before proceeding.

The postponement is notable because reported investor demand for the transaction had been substantial, with the offering roughly four times subscribed.

That suggests the obstacle is not simply an absence of buyers.

The broader environment for growth-company valuations has deteriorated as government-bond yields rise and investors demand greater compensation for holding riskier assets.

Oura is also not alone.

Other prospective issuers have recently delayed or suspended listing plans, adding uncertainty to expectations that the fall IPO season would produce a significant reopening of the U.S. new-issues market.

The company’s underlying business has continued growing.

Oura is profitable and expects fiscal-2026 revenue to increase approximately 90%. Paid membership associated with its smart-ring platform has reached about 5.7 million.

Those operating metrics make the postponement particularly useful as a signal of market conditions.

When a growing, profitable company with reported investor demand chooses to wait, it suggests issuers are becoming increasingly sensitive to valuation risk created by higher borrowing costs and volatile public markets.

The next test will be whether Treasury yields stabilize sufficiently for Oura and other delayed issuers to return.

If they do not, the current bond-market repricing could extend beyond publicly traded equities and begin materially restricting the pipeline of companies attempting to enter U.S. capital markets.
