Clay said Wednesday it raised $115 million in a Series D at a $7.1 billion valuation, more than double its year-ago mark, Reuters reported. Wellington Management led the round, with participation from Sequoia, StepStone, Andreessen Horowitz, and Perennial among others. The New York company, founded in 2017 by CEO and co-founder Kareem Amin, sells AI tools for sales and marketing. Customers include Google and Anthropic, cited here only as commercial users, not as a safety story.
The primary Series D is distinct from a January 2026 employee tender of about $55 million at a $5 billion valuation led by DST Global. Reuters said Clay was valued at $3.1 billion in August 2025 when it raised $100 million led by CapitalG. Company materials list the Sep. 9 Series D at $115 million and $7.1 billion with Wellington as lead. The tender is separate from this primary raise; pre-money and post-money marks should not be confused.
