Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said Wednesday it attacked 10 ships near the Strait of Hormuz, including two U.S. vessels and eight oil tankers, after overnight U.S. strikes on Iranian tankers. That damage claim is Iranian and not independently verified across all 10 targets. The United States denied its vessels were hit, and CENTCOM said attempted attacks failed. Separately, Iran fired ballistic missiles at a U.S.-used base in Jordan. Jordan said it intercepted 18 of 20, with two falling in unpopulated areas.
Charterer Peninsula said one seafarer was killed and another missing aboard products tanker Hercules Star off Dubai. Iraqi officials said tanker New Andros caught fire after a drone strike in Iraqi waters, with no crew casualties among 22. UKMTO reported merchant vessels hit by disabling fire; Reuters could not confirm whether a listing vessel was Hercules Star. AP said Brent crude settled at $101.21; a delayed last near $101.66 is not the settle.
