Kuehne+Nagel raised its 2026 profit outlook for the third time this year after strong technology and semiconductor shipments drove a sharp increase in third-quarter air-freight earnings.
The Swiss logistics company now expects recurring full-year operating profit of CHF 1.5 billion to CHF 1.6 billion, up from its previous CHF 1.35 billion to CHF 1.55 billion range.
Group EBIT increased 53% during the quarter to CHF 435 million, exceeding analysts’ median forecast of CHF 398 million.
Air Logistics produced particularly strong growth.
Operating profit in the division surged 84% to CHF 169 million as air-freight volume growth accelerated to 10%.

The numbers provide another indication that the artificial-intelligence investment cycle is affecting industries well beyond chip manufacturing and data-center construction.
High-value processors, servers and networking equipment frequently move by air because delivery speed and supply-chain reliability can outweigh transportation costs.
Sea Logistics also strengthened, with EBIT increasing 55% to CHF 172 million, supported by market-share gains on Asia outbound and transatlantic routes.
The company expects its 2026 cost-reduction program to generate gross savings exceeding CHF 150 million.
It also expects AI-driven productivity improvements to generate CHF 100 million to CHF 150 million of benefits beginning in 2027.
Kuehne+Nagel’s performance therefore provides two different signals about artificial intelligence.
AI infrastructure investment is increasing demand from technology customers, while the logistics company itself expects artificial intelligence to reduce operating costs.
Investors will now watch whether semiconductor and cloud-infrastructure freight volumes remain strong as markets scrutinize the sustainability of the broader AI capital-expenditure cycle.
