Japan and South Korea reopen Monday into a Federal Reserve week after a sharp Friday Asia selloff, with U.S. stocks finishing higher about 0.9 percent and oil still elevated after Red Sea and Saudi pipeline headlines. Yonhap Infomax put the Nikkei 225 at 64,011.34, down 1,259.61 points or 1.93 percent, after a session low of 63,208.63, with TOPIX at 4,028.30, down 0.65 percent. Yonhap said the Kospi closed at 6,909.91, down 124.01 points or 1.76 percent, after opening down 3.29 percent as foreigners and institutions sold.

The Fed meets September 15-16, a live risk into the first Asia cash prints of the week. Oman still aims for Monday Salalah talks on a temporary Hormuz shipping arrangement. Friday Houthi moves on Perim and Saudi Arabia’s temporary East-West pipeline shut add weekend energy-risk inputs for Tokyo and Seoul. No verified Sunday-night Nikkei or Kospi futures print was available Friday evening; reopen prep is framed from Friday closes and calendars only.
