Baltic Exchange VLCC earnings on the TD3C Middle East Gulf to China route printed $982,072 a day on Friday, about double the level a month earlier, Lloyd’s List reported. Clarksons Securities assessed the same route just over $1 million a day in a Friday client note; that figure is an assessment, not a confirmed cash fixture.
The Baltic Oman and Gulf of Oman to China index printed $571,387 a day Friday. Mercuria-operated Olympic Life was placed on subjects Friday for a Gulf of Oman to China voyage at $601,771 a day with a Sep. 23-25 laycan, according to Lloyd’s citing the Tankers International pool; on subjects is not a locked fixture.
U.S. cash and freight screens are closed Saturday; Friday Baltic prints are the last locked tape, and no Saturday Baltic figure is invented. Vitol’s chief executive said earlier this week that about 10 million barrels a day of oil were still moving via workarounds, attributed color only.
