European cash equities finished mostly lower Thursday in a shallow retreat after the European Central Bank delivered a widely expected 25-basis-point hike that lifted the deposit facility to 2.50%. The FTSE 100 closed at 10,608.92, down about 0.57%, or roughly 0.6%, according to Reuters and AJ Bell. Germany’s DAX finished at 25,401.23, down 0.69%, and France’s CAC 40 at 8,116.76, down 0.49%.
Reuters put the Stoxx Europe 600 at 635.97, down 0.7%, its lowest since July 8. An Edge vendor print near 636.49, down 0.61%, was flagged provisional and is not blended with the Reuters close. Miners were among the weakest sectors, down about 3.7% on the Reuters wrap, as oil’s surge and hot U.S. producer prices reinforced inflation-risk pricing.
Oil’s official Thursday settles belong in a separate energy package; here Brent near $105 at the London equities close is one-line color only. This is a Europe equity close after a priced hike, not a Bund-yield rewrite.
