China’s National Bureau of Statistics is scheduled to release August activity figures on Tuesday, Sept. 15, around 10:00 Beijing time, per its 2026 press-release calendar. The cluster includes industrial production, energy production, fixed-asset investment, real-estate development and sales, total retail sales, and the commercial residential sales-price index. Calendar dates are preliminary and subject to adjustment.
August prints have not been released. A Sept. 11 street preview from Lundgreen’s Investor Insights estimates August retail sales at 0.6% year on year, unchanged from July, and January-August fixed-asset investment at minus 7% year to date. Those figures are estimates, not official results.
July is the last published baseline: industrial output rose 4.5% year on year, retail sales rose 0.6%, and January-July fixed-asset investment fell 6.7%, Reuters reported Aug. 17, all missing consensus. Soft goods demand is the watch, with elevated oil cited as a drag on auto sales.
