Vehicles backed by Sixth Street and affiliates of Bayview Asset Management have acquired Castle Trust Bank from J.C. Flowers and Co. as equal partners, the UK specialist lender said August 3. J.C. Flowers later said the sale closed Friday, July 31. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Chief executive Martin Bischoff remains in place, and the wider management team is expected to continue. The buyers agreed to commit additional capital to support growth across the savings franchise, specialist property finance, and Omni Capital Retail Finance. The size of that capital commitment was not disclosed.
At announcement, Castle Trust cited retail savings above 1.6 billion pounds, a specialist property-finance book above 1.1 billion pounds, and an Omni Capital book above 200 million pounds, serving nearly 170,000 customers. Sixth Street cited more than $135 billion of assets and committed capital. Weekend coverage restated the completed sale; it is not a same-week close.
