KB Securities estimates memory inventories at Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have fallen to under 10 days of supply as of the third quarter of 2026, according to DigiTimes and Chosun Ilbo reporting of the Sep. 7 note. That figure is a brokerage estimate, not a company disclosure.
The same KB research projects global hyperscaler AI infrastructure investment next year at $1.3 trillion, up 60% year over year: an analyst projection, not booked CAPEX. TrendForce said total DRAM industry revenue nearly $154.73 billion in 2Q26, up 59.5% quarter over quarter.
Seoul Economic Daily, citing industry sources and relayed by TrendForce, reported Samsung has allocated about 70% of memory capacity through 2031 to long-term agreements. KITA data showed average HBM export prices at $76.13 per unit at end-July. KB says HBM4 uses roughly three times the wafer capacity of commodity DRAM.
