TTF printed about €76.7 per MWh as EU storage sat in the mid-60% range and Qatar LNG force majeure lingered.
Energy • Natural Gas • Europe
Dutch TTF European natural gas futures climbed to a multi-year high on Tue Sep. 8. Anadolu Agency cited the benchmark up 4.5% to €76.7 per MWh ($89.1) at 1720 GMT, its highest in more than 3.5 years. Bloomberg described a fresh three-year high since January 2023; Reuters had noted €75 per MWh last week. Those prints reflect the same spike at different timestamps, not conflicting prices.
EU underground storage hovered around 65-67% in early September, below seasonal norms. TASS citing GIE AGSI+ put fill at 66.59% as of Sep. 5. The European Commission said no further action was needed for now.
QatarEnergy remains under force majeure on LNG deliveries since March, with cancellations reported into autumn and early November. Iranian officials said Iran-Oman talks on a temporary Hormuz safe-passage route reached a final stage; that is diplomatic talk, not an operational corridor.
